Mayo School of Ballet & Performing Arts provide classical dance training to children and young adults. The school is affiliated with the International Dance Teachers Association taking part in certified examination sessions biyearly, alternating with a school performance. Previous productions have taken place in the Linen Hall, Town Hall Westport and Royal Theatre. 

Offering ballet classes for children age 4+ following the ISTD syllabus.

Children who have not done ballet before enter the school as beginners. They are assessed by and outside examiner who is an associate of the Royal Academy of Dance. It takes at least two years to reach this stage as the children need to spend time learning core positions and body posture before they are ready to take the exams.

The Katie Mairead Dance School offers IBD Ballet & Acrobatic Arts Dance classes in Mayo & Sligo.  Fully qualified and Garda vetted, we offer fun, friendly dance classes for children 3+.  Whether your child is enjoying the thrill of their first dance class or pursuing a career in dance, our goal is to provide a supportive and relaxed environment in order to nurture their talent and individuality, encouraging your child to achieve their personal best.  All students are encouraged to take part in our yearly showcase event.
